Covid in Berlin

During the coronavirus pandemic in Berlin, the city experienced a radical and unexpected change. The streets, usually lively and crowded, became deserted, creating a surreal atmosphere. Shops and shopping centers, once bustling with life, closed their doors or limited access, with long lines of customers waiting to enter, all strictly distanced and wearing masks.

The shop windows, adorned with signs announcing temporary closures or new restrictions, told a story of adaptation and resilience. Restaurants, which were once places of sociality and conviviality, had to reinvent themselves, offering only takeout or delivery. The writings on the walls, often accompanied by drawings and graffiti, multiplied, expressing the collective feelings of fear, hope, and frustration. Messages like "Stay at home" mingled with urban artwork, transforming the city into a gallery of reflection and protest.
